When is the best time to start preparing for the SAT/ACT exams? Parents hear advice all day long on when to start: from the school, from friends and from advertisements. So when should you start?
CCPrep advises a schedule that creates the least amount of stress as possible. We advise students to begin in the summer before their Junior year, so that they may take the exams the first time in the Fall of the Junior year, and any possible retakes in the Winter/early Spring so that all exams may be completed before the busy AP Exam season in the April and May months. This way students will alleviate some of their stressful, busy lives by removing one key part of the application process early – the SAT/ACT exams.
Are there any students who should wait? Yes. Those who play fall sports and are not taking any AP Exams, or those who have not yet completed Geometry and Algebra 2, should consider waiting until after the first semester of Junior year to look at taking the exams.
